Services

The work.

Volvo truck electrical. Wiring, clusters, controllers, I-Shift electrics and field service. The quote follows the finding.

01

Volvo diagnostics

Book this

A warning lamp is the start. Fault history, live data and a parameter check come before a controller or a loom is condemned.

When operators call

  • A lamp is on and the truck has lost a function
  • It will not crank, or it cranks and will not run
  • An intermittent fault that will not show on a short drive
  • A part was replaced and the fault stayed

How we approach it

The driver’s account comes first. Then the truck. Parts are ordered against that finding.

02

Wiring and harnesses

Book this

Cab wiring, chassis wiring, and dashboard harness rebuilds. A patched loom that has been added to for years is a different job from a single broken wire, and it is priced that way only after it has been seen.

When operators call

  • Lights, indicators or a trailer plug that misbehaves
  • A burning smell, or a loom that has rubbed through
  • A dashboard harness that has been repaired until it lies
  • The same sensor code after the sensor was already replaced

How we approach it

Supply, earth, then the wire itself. A new sensor on a broken loom is not a repair.

03

I-Shift electrical

Book this

PWM valve repairs, gear selector repairs, and gear-selector rebuilds. A gearbox that will not engage is often an electrical fault wearing a mechanical name.

When operators call

  • It will not select a gear
  • The selector is dead, or it hunts
  • A PWM or solenoid fault that returns after a part was fitted

How we approach it

The control side is proved before anyone talks about removing the gearbox. Calibration follows the repair, so the truck and the part agree.

04

Clusters and controllers

Book this

Instrument clusters, cab controllers, the LCM, and ECU programming. A dark cluster is not always a dead cluster, and a controller that will not talk is not always a controller that must be replaced.

When operators call

  • A cluster that is blank, or stuck on one warning
  • A control unit that will not communicate
  • A replacement unit that the truck will not accept

How we approach it

Power and network first. Programming and parameter work only once the hardware in front of us is the hardware that belongs on that truck.

05

Calibration and parameters

Book this

Parameter programming after a repair, so a new selector, cluster or controller matches the truck. This is not a shortcut around a fault that has not been found.

How we approach it

Calibration follows the diagnosis. It does not replace it.

06

Mobile field service

Book this

On-site breakdown assistance when the electrical fault can be proved where the truck is standing. Fleet yards, depots and roadside stops, by arrangement.

When a call-out makes sense

  • The truck is in a yard, not in a live lane
  • The fault can be read and repaired without the bench
  • Moving it would leave the load where it is

When it does not

If the truck is in a live lane, get people clear and deal with traffic first. We are not a traffic service. If the board or the harness needs the bench, the truck comes in. Call Dunkin on 065 897 5086 and that is said before anyone drives out.

Next

Call Dunkin with the lamp and the symptom.

065 897 5086. If it is not electrical work for this bench, you will hear that before a booking is made.
